This course focuses on how European cities are transforming their urban infrastructure to achieve greater sustainability, connectivity, and digital integration. With the participation of experts from the Barcelona City Council, Lisbon City Council, the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC), the University of Lisbon, and leading organizations such as Barcelona Supercomputing Center, Smart City Expo World Congress, and EDP Group, the program will combine conceptual sessions with technical visits to flagship smart infrastructure projects. Participants will explore how Barcelona and Lisbon are redefining the management of mobility, energy, water, and digital infrastructure, integrating public policy, technology, and citizen participation to create more resilient, inclusive, and intelligent cities. This initiative strengthens the bridge between innovation ecosystems in Southern Europe and offers global leaders a hands-on experience of the future of urban transformation.
